Maher Abdel Samad
Maher Abdel Samad is a sophomore in M&T studying Systems Engineering and Business. Born and Raised in Beirut- Lebanon, Maher hails from a rich culture defined by diversity. Maher sits on the Student Life committee and hopes to work on projects that create tangible change, improving the lives of the students he represents. Also, he hopes to work on projects that facilitate the academic path of Engineering students with reforms to advising and communication within SEAS. Finally, he will continue working on improving International students’ experience at Penn as part of ISTAR. Maher serves as the Executive VP on Class Board 2021 and works with Penn admissions as a tour guide and he’s a big champion of the Penn spirit. Priya Bhirgoo is a junior in SEAS studying Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering. She was born and raised in Mauritius, a tiny island far off the East Coast of Madagascar in the Indian Ocean. She is excited to serve her first year on the UA and give back to Penn. She hopes to improve student life for first-generation, low-income and international students and ensure that Penn is a place with equal opportunities for all. Nicholas Parkes is a junior in Engineering and Wharton studying Mechanical Engineering and Management. He is excited to serve out his first year on the UA to improve the lives of his classmates and make Penn an even better place than it already is. Nick is also on the Penn Electric Racing team here at Penn, where he witnesses firsthand the genius of Penn’s student body. In his free time, he loves reading and playing soccer. Kayla Prezelski, from Pottsville, Pennsylvania, is a senior in SEAS studying Bioengineering. She is excited to see what she can bring to SEAS through the UA and would like to specifically focus on advocacy for women in STEM.
