pierce haider
equity and inclusion director
Pierce Haider (she/her) is a junior from New York, NY studying Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering with a minor in Engineering Entrepreneurship. In the 53rd session of the Undergraduate Assembly, Pierce serves as the director of the Equity & Inclusion Committee and is one of the representatives of the School of Engineering and Applied Science. Outside of the UA, she is the president of Penn Women's Ice Hockey, the VP External of Class Board 2027, a Rachleff Scholar, and the VP Internal of Engineers without Borders. She also is an intern at Penn Health-Tech and a researcher at the Murray Lab of Developmental Genetics. In her free time, she enjoys crossword puzzles, swimming, and the PWHL. John Moriarty is an engineering student with interests spanning electronics, semiconductors, and space systems. He came to the UA for its strong engineering program and opportunities to work closely with faculty on hands-on research. He’s also curious about environmental applications of engineering, and likes diving deep into the physics that underlies real-world technologies.
Bhavya surapaneni

Bhavya Surapaneni (she/her) is a junior from Castle Pines, Colorado, studying Electrical Engineering with minors in Mathematics and Computer Science in the Benjamin Franklin Scholars program. Bhavya served on the Equity and Inclusion Committee in the 52nd session of the Undergraduate Assembly. Outside of UA, Bhavya is the President of Penn Engineers Without Borders, Professional Development Director of Penn Society of Women Engineers, and is involved in Kite & Key, Bloomers Comedy, and Penn Jet Propulsion.
