UA Presidential Debates 2012

Hear from President and VP candidates before you cast your vote! All Penn undergraduates are invited to the upcoming UA Presidential debates. Questions are open to the public during the second half of all debates.

Daily Pennsylvanian Presidential and Vice Presidential Debate
Host: the Daily Pennsylvanian
Location: Philo Halls (4th Floor College Hall)

Transition Meeting Sunday 6PM

The UA’s Transition Meeting will take place this Sunday at 6PM in JMHH 255.

The agenda of the meeting is as follows:

a. Call to Order by the incumbent NEC Chairperson, who shall be the Chair of the Transition Meeting;
b. A State of the UA Address delivered by the outgoing President (Matt Amalfitano),
c. An Inaugural Address delivered by the Incoming President (Tyler Ernst);
d. The Election of the UA Officers: Speaker, Treasurer, and Secretary
e. Appropriate transitional exercises
f. Adjournment.


The meeting will be open to the public as usual, with the exception of deliberations. There will be a Q&A session after the speeches of each election where you may pose questions to the candidates.

The UA Executive Board is pleased to announce the appointment of the following Cabinet positions:

Communications Director: Chris Cruz
Academic Affairs Director: Faye Cheng
Civic & Philadelphia Engagement Director: Jake Shuster
Housing, Sustainability & Facilities Director: Amanda Young
Student Life Director: Tyler Ernst
Speaker Pro Tempore: Grant Dubler (confirmed by acclamation)

The UA body also elected the following members:

Budget Committee: Emerson Brooking and Hunter Horsley
T-Change Representative: Andrew Jakubowski
Council of Philadelphia Student Government (CPSG) Representative: Emily Shaeffer

The UA representative to NEC will be appointed within the next 2 weeks.
