Welcome to the UA’s new free guide to maximizing your Philly experience! In here, you’ll find a compilation of culinary, recreational, and other money-saving opportunities available to Penn students. We have links and reviews of sites that every student should be aware of from their first day on campus! Next time you and your friends are thinking about what to do or eat, use this guide as a starting point for your Philly adventures! Feel free to submit your feedback and any suggestions on how we can expand and improve the guide!

CampusFood Campus Food provides menus and restaurant info for a wide selection of local Philly eateries, many of which are open late. You can order for delivery or pickup directly from the website. Campus Food also informs you of special deals and provides coupons—to save you money that every college student needs. They also have a Facebook application which helps you save money on food orders.


Browse restaurants by type of cuisine, atmosphere, location, best place to take a date, best places to go with parents, best BYOBs, etc. The Street, Daily Pennsylvanian’s magazine, provides weekly reviews of restaurants. Many of your fellow classmates have submitted their own reviews of restaurants to the DP Dining Guide, all for you to browse at your leisure.


There are few terms that send Philly abuzz like “Restaurant Week.” This semiannual event gives you an opportunity to taste some of Philly’s finest restaurants at a fraction of their regular prices. Make your reservations early! This site will give you all the details you need for a tasty night out!


Campus Philly is a non-profit organization that attempts to stimulate the local economy by providing special opportunities for students. They have a discount tag you can use to receive special student discounts at businesses all around Philadelphia. You can pick up yours at the Office of Student Life in Houston Hall. On top of this, the website has articles, guides, and discounts to help you maximize your Philadelphia experience.


UCPhila helps you get to know your neighborhood—University City! Find local restaurants, shops, and entertainment venues that you can easily walk to from campus! While nothing can beat the experience of exploring the neighborhood on foot, this is a close second. The interactive map is especially useful for pinpointing those businesses that are often talked about on campus.


Use Yelp if you prefer reading candid user reviews of restaurants, shopping, entertainment, and much more, then this site has a lot of that.


The name Philly Fun Guide is self-explanatory. This comprehensive online guide focuses on recreation in Philadelphia. Students might be especially interested in the “free” section, which has information on lots of free events happening around Philadelphia.


Penn Food Trucks help student’s find their staple foods at Penn. Cheaper prices are a big draw. This site gives locations and menus of the different food trucks around campus.
