UA History
1st Term: Member for Wharton (09-10)
Candidate Statement (2009)
I’m Tyler Ernst, a rising M&T Sophomore, and I’d absolutely love your vote! I’m running for the UA because you deserve greater accessibility and accountability than you’ve been receiving: The UA isn’t an elite club meant to benefit representatives, but rather an open forum meant to serve the students. Regarding qualifications, I have ample leadership experience and I would love to use it! From M&T Club and Lambda Alliance to Men’s Volleyball and the Intercultural Fund, I already represent a broad cross-section of our campus. Most of my UA actions will be suggestion-based, but I have a few ideas of my own: free coffee in Huntsman, gender-neutral restroom availability, and improved Huntsman facilities. If elected, I would love the opportunity to work on the UA’s textbook affordability and environmental sustainability projects. Above all, I’ll represent you accurately and that I always have open ears. Thank you, and please vote TERNST!
