Candidate Statement (2009)
As a freshman representative on the UA, I am involved in projects with far-reaching effects. I sit in on technology refreshes of PennPortal and Penn inTouch, websites that many students feel do not meet their needs or expectations. I am also a member of the group working towards a Penn calendar to better unify the activities and groups on campus. Likewise, I authored the “Textbooks Affordability” survey, which was released to the school in February; the results of this survey will help gauge the financial burden textbooks pose to students and thus pave the way for more affordable textbooks at Penn. Finally, I am recently involved in a project examining the status of minorities in undergraduate education, a topic that is vital in determining the overall quality of a Penn education. I hope to continue all of these projects and initiate even more as a Wharton representative. FAYE. FOR. UA.
