Candidate Statement (2009)
Hey guys, I’m Ariella Chivil and I’m running for re-election as your UA SAS representative! I’ve been fortunate during my first semester on the UA to have had the guidance of both seasoned vets and fellow newbies. During my brief time on the body, I executed and contributed to numerous projects, including Zimride, the first proposal authored by a freshman to be unanimously passed. In addition to having the pleasure of working alongside fellow members on their projects, I am currently spearheading the Commons Basement committee, so be on the lookout for surveys and focus groups coming your way soon! Now that I’ve gotten my feet wet in the area of administrative diplomacy among others, I look forward to taking a much more active role in the following semester, particularly in project management. Future focuses include room reservation system integration, subsidies for technology rentals, and more effective student outreach.
