Candidate Statement (2009)
Hi, my name is Sakina Zaidi and I’m running for re-election onto the UA. As an international student as well as someone from a minority group, I feel that I bring a unique voice to the body as well as a genuine desire to understand and act on issues that are important to students. My particular experience on the UA budget committee this year gave me the opportunity to meet with many students and understand the needs of their groups and all of the projects that I have worked on this year were a direct result of my conversations with my peers. I hope to continue to be a voice on the UA for what students truly want and I hope to be able to use my past UA experience to bring about the kinds of changes that you’d like to see. So Vote SAKINA ZAIDI because SHE’S YOUR LADY!
